THE OMEN Roundtable with DEMON RESURRECTION director William Hopkins

Carey Vickers and Aaron Poe brought Erik K Myers and myself back to A Podcast From Beneath to tackle another 70s horror franchise, THE OMEN.

Our discussion covers the admirable first film, the passable second film, the misguided third film, the hilarious fourth film, and the abysmal 2006 remake. Along the way, we touch on David Seltzer's novelization, lapses in logic in the first film's script, the antichrist's unusual taste in statuary in OMEN III, and Robert Foxworth's hairdo. Enjoy :)

THE EXORCIST Roundtable with DEMON RESURRECTION director, William Hopkins

I was recently invited back on Carey Vickers' A PODCAST FROM BENEATH to discuss THE EXORCIST and its sequels.

In addition to the show's regular crew, Aaron M Poe and Billy Ballard, we were joined by Ain't It Cool News writer and Exorcist franchise expert, Erik Kristopher Myers, who brought to the conversation the information and insight he's gained from years of research into the subject, including his extensive interviews with William Peter Blatty, William Friedkin and Paul Schrader.‬

‪We all met up via Zoom to discuss the franchise and this was the result, presented here in something approaching living color...

The conversation, which was originally scheduled to run for an hour, ending up going well over two hours, but as much ground as we covered, there's still a lot about the franchise we never got around to, so maybe there'll be a sequel to our discussion at some point. I hope so.‬ (Update: I'll be posting our two-hour discussion of THE OMEN franchise soon, and a roundtable discussion of Hammer Films is upcoming.)

‪Thanks again to Carey for having me on the show. It was great fun and I learned a lot. ‬
